Dear Members and Future Members,

May 2026 Newsletter –The 29th Florida Dance Spree was a big success!

What an incredible weekend of dancing. Thank you to all our wonderfully talented instructors who taught Saturday’s workshops from 9 AM–4 PM — Joe & Jen, Kevin, Viorel, Bonnie, and Germine. Friday evening opened with a lively Peabody lesson taught by Joe and Jen, followed by a delicious dinner. Afterward, dancers enjoyed friendly team matches, a spirited Jack & Jill contest, and general dancing all the way until 11 PM.

On Saturday night, after a full day of workshops, everyone returned for an outstanding dinner dance featuring three fantastic exhibitions by Jim and Linda Seyboldt, The Salsa Team, and Chris and Karen Chaleki.

Just saying “thank you” hardly feels like enough. I am deeply grateful for everyone who helped make this event such a success — the Greater Daytona Chapter Board, Greg Marcum, Leslie Wakerman, Bob Wiech, Nakita Martucier, Heather Lippert, and our amazing DJ, Jim Seyboldt.

If you missed this year’s Dance Spree, you can save the date for 30th Florida Dance Spree April 23 & 24, 2027.

President, Monica Wiech

Support our local arts organizations

When you choose Florida's "State of the Arts" license tag for your vehicle, all of the proceeds fund visual and performing arts programs (like ours) right here in Volusia County.

How much does it cost?

The first-time cost of a State of the Arts plate is $32 in addition to your vehicle's normal registration fee at time of renewal.

Of that, $20 is tax deductible. Future renewals are only $22 each year in addition to the normal registration fee with $20 again being tax deductible.

To re-order: At renewal, simply state you would like a "State of the Arts" plate and include a check for $32 along with your renewal notice.

or ...

Visit your local tag office, turn in your current plate and receive your new "Arts Plate" on the spot for $32. Gift certificates for State of the Arts plates are also available at your local tag office and make great gifts that also help our community.

It's a great way and a great day to be a Driving Force

for the Arts!
